Welcome Home, Writers.
Under Your Boot Soles knows that community and nourishment are all around us. Writers before us planted “seeds” of inspiration and craft we can now harvest together. Around us, every day, are writers. Together, we can encourage, support, and inspire each other. For fuller context, see the Whitman poem excerpt below.
Whether you're just starting or have been writing for years, we all can use inspiration, craft lessons, connections, and community. Especially when it’s all free.
Excerpt, ‘Song of Myself, 52’
Walt Whitman
I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love,
If you want me again look for me under your boot-soles.
You will hardly know who I am or what I mean,
But I shall be good health to you nevertheless,
And filter and fibre your blood.
Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged,
Missing me one place search another,
I stop somewhere waiting for you.
